The Chiang Rai Flower Festival takes place annually from December to February, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. During the festival, a musical performance is held in the park every Saturday.
The festival is held at Haad Nakhon Chiang Rai Park, a riverside park in the heart of Chiang Rai city. From 26 December 2025 through 18 February 2026, this large green space is transformed into a living garden filled with winter flowers, creative floral sculptures, and meaningful design concepts.
A Festival Rooted in Northern Identity
Now in its 22nd edition, the Chiang Rai Flower Festival has grown into one of the most important winter events in northern Thailand. Unlike many festivals that focus mainly on entertainment, this flower festival reflects the local way of life. Flowers are not just decorations here; they are symbols of care, respect, and harmony with nature.
The theme of the 2026 edition can be translated as “Weaving Hearts Together, Flowers in Tribute.” This concept brings emotional depth to the event. The gardens are designed to express connection—between people, between generations, and between humans and nature. For international visitors, this adds a cultural layer that goes beyond photography and sightseeing.
Additionally, the 22nd Chiang Rai Flower Festival features a butterfly flower tunnel and a flower house. The municipality has adorned the area with flowers to enhance its visual appeal and welcome all tourists. They also provide an area for a cultural square, ethnic performances, northern food stalls, and diverse culinary options, including tea and coffee shops, all set in a charming riverfront ambiance
