Learning Holiday Route: Ban Sai Noi Community Ayutthaya

Ban Sai Noi Community is an old Mon community from the Ayutthaya period that is full of lively folk wisdom. It is open to tourists to experience new forms of learning. Trace local history and learn about the ancient community lifestyle

Travel back to the prosperous Ayutthaya period with knowledge passed from one generation to another. In Ban Sai Noi Community, attractions include local desserts, archaeological sites, the legend of Nai Khanom Tom Thai Boxer and the Mon’s weaving textile culture.


PROGRAM

DAY1

09.00 Arrive at Ban Sai Noi Community and do community activities:

  • Station 1 - learn how to make ancient Mon bricks;
  • Station 2 - local cooking activities from local ingredients

 

12.00 Have lunch

13.00 Do afternoon activities in the community:

  • Station 3 - riding a bicycle and learning about the sufficiency agricultural way of life;
  • Station 4 - sapodilla carving workshop;
  • Station 5 - making desserts from sapodilla 

 

17.00 Have dinner at Ban Suan Bang Ban

18.30 Check in to the accommodations



DAY2

09.00 Pay homage to Luang Pho To of Wat Phananchoeng Worawihan

10.30 Stop for coffee at The Burrow café

12.00 Have lunch at Tahai Noodles Shop

13.30 Visit Kong Khong Market, an old market of the province

17.00 Have dinner

19.00 Return to the accommodations



DAY3 

09.00 Check out from the accommodations

10.30 Stop by to buy Ban Mai sapodilla at Lamut 100 Pi, Suan Lung Chao

12.00 Arrive at Ruen Bunnag and see a demonstration of hand-woven silk making, and learn how to weave reed mats before lunch

14.00 Travel back safely
