Under the Sea Adventure: Turning the Ocean into a Real Classroom
Education today is no longer limited to classrooms. Real understanding comes from experience, observation, and responsibility.
Over 10 years, education has slowly moved beyond textbooks and exams.
Parents and educators are now looking for learning experiences that help students understand the real world, and build practical skills for the future. This belief is at the heart of TAGTHAi EcoVenture: Under the Sea Adventure, a carefully designed marine science program for students that combine scientific learning, real ocean experience, and social impact into one meaningful journey.

Understanding the Under the Sea Adventure
The Under the Sea Adventure program is designed for students aged 10–13 who want more than classroom learning. Over 3 days and 1 night, including a pre-course foundation session at Chulalongkorn University and a 2-day field expedition at Samae San Island, students learn marine science the way real scientists do through observation, research, and direct experience with nature
The adventure is not a tour or a holiday camp.
It is a structured educational program built around real processes. Before entering the ocean environment, students will attend a pre-course session at Chulalongkorn University, where they learn Marine Biology 101, marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and safety. This foundation prepares them mentally and academically for hands-on fieldwork.

During the field experience at Samae San Island in Chonburi province, students will participate in coral restoration at the Coral Clinic under the Royal Initiative Project, snorkel above vibrant reefs, collect plankton for microscopic study, and explore shark anatomy to understand ocean threats. These activities help students see the invisible connections within marine ecosystems.
Another highlight of the program is the visit to the Thai Islands and Sea Natural History Museum, followed by Mission Turtle, where students learn about sea turtle biology and conservation before releasing turtles back into their natural habitat. These experiences help connect knowledge with real environmental responsibility.
How This Program Impacts Human Living
The main benefit of this campaign goes beyond teaching marine science. It helps young learners understand how human actions directly affect the ocean and, in return, human life.
Coral reefs, plankton, sharks, and sea turtles are not distant topics, but these are part of the ecosystem that supports food security, climate balance, and biodiversity.

By studying coral restoration and ocean threats, students see how pollution, climate change, and overfishing impact marine life. This awareness shapes responsible behavior from an early age. The program also emphasizes empathy and compassion, teaching students that protecting nature means protecting future generations.
Another important impact is social equality. A portion of every enrollment supports the Pan-Kan-Rian-Roo Fund, which helps other children access the same learning opportunities. This creates a learning cycle where one child’s education supports another child’s opportunity.
Why Students Should Not Miss This Opportunity
For students, especially those aged 10–13, this program offers rare benefits.
First, it provides portfolio-ready experience. Universities and international schools increasingly look for students who show leadership, critical thinking, and real-world learning. A Certificate of Completion from this program reflects hands-on research experience, not just participation.

Second, the entire program is conducted fully in English, including the pre-course and field expedition. Students practice English naturally through discussion, teamwork, and scientific explanation, improving communication skills in real situations.

Third, the program builds confidence. Many students experience snorkeling, scientific observation, and teamwork in new environments for the first time. With professional supervision and university-approved safety protocols, students feel secure while stepping outside their comfort zones.

About the Instructor: Learning from a Real Marine Scientist
The program is led by Dr. Watcharapong Hongjamrassilp, also known as Dr. Win, a marine biologist and National Geographic Explorer. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from UCLA and a Master’s degree in Marine Biology from UC San Diego.
Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at Chulalongkorn University and has served as a scientific consultant for BBC, National Geographic, Disney, NHK, and Netflix. So, his expertise in marine ecology, biodiversity, and conservation ensures that students receive accurate knowledge, guided by real scientific practice.
Why Joining This Program Matters
Joining TAGTHAi EcoVenture’s Under the Sea Adventure is more than joining a science camp. It is an investment in awareness, and responsibility. Students gain academic knowledge, confidence, and global perspective, while also contributing to social impact through shared learning opportunities.

For families looking for a meaningful learning journey that blends education, sustainability, and compassion, this marine science program offers a chance to explore the ocean, and grow into thoughtful persons.
